We have been very happy clients of Charlotte and The COLOR Company for many years. She has helped to transform our house from an outdated, plain house into an open, warm and inviting home. One thing that I am particularly impressed with is her ability to work with the often conflicting, preconceived mindsets and suggest new, unexpected directions that surprise and delight us. She has helped us with all aspects of our home, from consulting on room additions, major kitchen and bathroom renovations, to flooring, window treatments and furnishings. Charlotte brings a truly refreshing attitude into your home. She doesn’t arrive with preconceived concepts or plans. Rather, she comes prepared to listen to your needs and desires, then incorporates them into a presentation for your review and approval. Sometimes, working out the details can take several meetings, yet Charlotte always listens and works with you.

Charlotte is a dedicated, skilled decorator who also has the people skills that are so necessary to understanding her clients wants, enabling her to generate solutions that fulfill those wants.

When friends enter our home for the first time, they are quick to comment positively on the colors utilized throughout the house. My husband Russell and I eagerly respond that our walls are now totally void of Navaho White, the only color previously utilized. With the assistance of Charlotte, we now have colors flowing throughout our home, chosen for particular spaces to compliment natural light, wood, fabrics, floors, and art we have within.

I knew how important color was to me as I use it to create my fiber art, but I had little confidence with a wall color, as it would flow from room to room in our home. Charlotte’s color plan for our walls became the frame work to support our choices for reupholstering furniture, purchasing of textiles, up dating floor coverings, and supplying us with a background to display a variety of cherished art.

Russell especially appreciated Charlotte’s patience and talents as they worked together in placing furniture and pictures dear to him within our dining and living rooms. Over the five years it has taken to eradicate wallpaper and Navaho White throughout our house, our relationship with Charlotte has become one of honest respect. As evidence to the confidence and knowledge gained from working with her, the guiding question is now “What would Charlotte say about this decision?”

Thanks to Charlotte’s dedication to excellence, I have a wonderful and comfortable home. She was able to integrate my antiques and family pieces to create a serene and natural flow. Friends and visitors always comment that everything looks as though it has always been here. This is the third house that Charlotte has designed for me. I am always confident that she will provide color and design expertise that creates the perfect home for me. 

There has not been a day that we did not love the total design of our home. Charlotte has the ability to determine what we like and then put it into design that we totally enjoy living with for a long time.

I wanted to redo the whole kitchen – walls, floor, counters, cabinets – and engaged Charlotte for her exceptional sense of color. However, as we worked, I came to appreciate other aspects of her service. Firstly, although she offered ideas, she did not insist. If it didn’t work for me, we tried something else. However, she did insist that it all tie together. She was very patient with me, steering me from a number of shoals, for I entered this with only a general idea of what I wanted. I am very pleased with the results, and feel that it is my kitchen, not someone else’s.
