interior design interior decorating color coaching gate Blue is the rarest color found in nature. Blue is thought by anthropologists to have been unidentified as a separate color for the first few thousand years of modern man’s existence; around 5000 B.C., it was considered a form of black. Blue in all its variations is one of the two most popular colors especially among adults. Perhaps this is due to the fact that it is the color of the heavens, a happy color that suggests air and space. It is the most tranquil of colors, known to symbolize inner happiness, tranquility and healing. With its power to relax and soothe, it is the great peace maker. interior design interior decorating color coaching evening garden

Traditionally, blue is the symbol of first prize; only purple ranks
above it as a symbol of excellence. This very popular color is sprinkled with a large dose of dignity and authority, thus it is favored by law enforcement and military for uniforms.

This cool, crisp color mixes exceptionally well with white especially cobalt, royal, navy and Dresden blue. China considers the blue and white combination representative of money.

Blue is best used in sunny rooms with south or south west exposure because of its cooling nature. It tends to be more pleasant in rooms that are brightened by natural light. Pale blue will effectively raise a low ceiling and add a dreamy dimension to your space. In its medium shades, blue will enlarge a small space and add versatility to your scheme. It is an excellent background color for dining areas or narrow hallways. Since it provides stimulation as well as relaxation, it is a number one recommendation for a library or study. It is also known to encourage concentration.

Blue is the perfect color to relax highly strung, overworked people because it is credited with lowering blood pressure. The tendency of blue to relax and soothe, make it the ideal choice for creating a peaceful bedroom haven. It is even credited with curing insomnia, and reducing the crying of infants. interior decorating interior design color coaching bedroom

Few will deny that the cool, clean nature of blue make it a refreshing choice for the kitchen. It is an excellent background for food, not to mention that it slows down the appetite! Blue is one of the best colors for bathrooms due to its association with cleanliness. Also ideal there because it is flattering to the complexion and enhances appearance.

In general blue will flatter the home and create an atmosphere of tranquility, elegance and spaciousness. Blue is a pleasant color to live with and can be light-hearted and restful or  sunny and mysterious. A refined color, it can be used almost anywhere with success. The clear variations of blue or the medium to darker shades are preferred, as grey blues tend to be depressing and look faded at night. As a rule incandescent light is a better compliment to blue than florescent lighting.
